In ancient mesoamerican literature, there is this one gem: Popol Vuh -- a book written as an abridgment to earlier (and now lost) works of literature: www.bibliotecapleyades.net/popol_vuh/book/pv09.htm. Look very closely at chapter 1 of Popol Vuh and tell me it doesn't squarely look like it's painting a Concave Earth:
Okay, so far, the gods who are called the Heart of Heaven (as in the center) are Inside the water. So, there's this blob of water and in the middle of it are the gods and the center of heaven. Heaven is inside the waters.
Note: "Earth" here seems to be simply the land or dirt. So now, the gods tell the water around them to recede (move away). With water all around them, this would sort of inflate the water like a balloon -- there is now a spherical shell of water around the gods and heaven in order to make a "void" or empty space. Then, land is brought up from the water. This is a stunning image of the concave earth. But this last phrase in the chapter seals the deal:
The heart of heaven IS the heart of earth. Heaven is in the center of the earth, not around it. Thoughts?
"Only the creator, the Maker, Tepeu, Gucumatz, the Forefathers, were in the water surrounded with light. They were hidden under green and blue feathers, and were therefore called Gucumatz. By nature they were great sages and great thinkers. In this manner the sky existed and also the Heart of Heaven, which is the name of God and thus He is called."
Okay, so far, the gods who are called the Heart of Heaven (as in the center) are Inside the water. So, there's this blob of water and in the middle of it are the gods and the center of heaven. Heaven is inside the waters.
Let the water recede and make a void, let the earth appear and become solid; let it be done.

Thus was the earth created, when it was formed by the Heart of Heaven, the Heart of Earth, as they are called who first made it fruitful, when the sky was in suspense, and the earth was submerged in the water.
The heart of heaven IS the heart of earth. Heaven is in the center of the earth, not around it. Thoughts?
